Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

DispaUK (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website dispauk.co.uk. We are an independent project and are not affiliated with SHPlay GmbH or MissionChief.

2. What data we collect

We aim to collect the minimum data necessary:

  • Contact information – if you email us (email address and any details you choose to provide).
  • Technical data – basic server logs that may include IP address, browser type, and pages visited (standard web-server / CDN logging via GitHub Pages).
  • Cookie / local storage data – consent preferences and, if advertising technologies run, data processed by Google AdSense (see below and our Cookie Policy).

The Locate feature processes your location only in your browser; it is not sent to DispaUK servers. Place search may call OpenStreetMap Nominatim from your browser.

We do not currently operate user accounts, payment processing, or marketing mailing lists.

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display ads and help fund the site. Publisher ID: ca-pub-1802148026096192.

Google and its partners may process personal data (including online identifiers and IP address) to deliver, measure, and in some cases personalise ads. Google acts as an independent controller for much of this processing. Details: Google advertising technologies and Google Privacy Policy.

You can manage ads via the cookie banner, browser controls, or Google Ad Settings.

4. How we use your data

  • To respond to enquiries you send us.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website.
  • To show advertising via Google AdSense.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

5. Legal bases (UK GDPR)

Where the UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases:

  • Consent – for non-essential cookies where required.
  • Legitimate interests – operating and securing the website, and responding to messages you initiate.
  • Legal obligation – where we are required to retain or disclose information by law.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with:

  • Hosting providers (currently GitHub Pages)
  • Google (AdSense and related advertising services)
  • Authorities if required by law

7. International transfers

Our website is hosted via GitHub Pages. Google may process advertising data in the United States and other countries. Where applicable, appropriate safeguards may apply under Google’s terms.

8. Retention

Contact emails are retained only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes. Advertising identifiers are controlled by Google according to its policies.

9. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent. Contact administrator@dispauk.co.uk. You may also complain to the ICO: ico.org.uk.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when changes are made.
